It's a sickness. Truth, justice and the American Way. Unless you lose, then it's evil socialist and destructive. Talk about cognitive difficulties and outright denial, not to mention delusion and fear and loathing along with lies and slander. Did I miss anything?

Will these people ever figure out that there is such a thing as objective reality? I realize humans have a strong bias towards magical thinking, but really, how do they make it through the day without trying to walk through windows or something?

“Does anyone really believe America can survive four more years of Barack Obama?”

Well, yes, actually I do. Believe in America.

On Sunday, Phillips proposed an action plan — getting Electoral College voters in states won by Romney to boycott the validation of the election result by the December 17 deadline.

Sigh. I'm old enough to remember when the EC was the conservative firewall against the tyranny of the popular vote. Now apparently the EC has been tainted by too much voting.

Anyway, this is just what the Founders intended: that the losing candidate's electors would boycott the EC and thus have the gerrymandered House elect the prez. See how much the teabaggers love America? /

Sounds like a great plan but wouldn't this be like when a team forfeits and the other team then gets the win? /

The Lavender Scare
Here is an interesting article on one of Tail Gunner Joe's sick witch hunts that has, unfortunately, been forgotten. I try not to feel schadenfreude of the fate of McCarthy's side kick, Ray Cohn, but I never succeed.

Eric Alterman: A Wake-Up Call for US Liberals
