Go for it dickhead.

Can I please throw in $50 of my own money?

That's a lot of rice and potatoes, a little bit of cabbage, and four chickens per month. For a reasonably active and not-short adult male, that's not much. Perhaps it's enough.

I'm betting that Cory Booker has thought it through and thinks he can manage. He's done difficult things before. I'm a big fan of Cory Booker.

I don't see this as a publicity stunt on his part. I'm not an admirer of Erwin Rommel across the board, but there's no way around granting that he had his share of the martial virtues. Unfortunately.

One of the things he did as commander of Afrika Korps was to grant himself only his share of the rations his troops got. That way, he would know from direct personal experience how they were getting along, and what he could reasonably ask of them and what would be impossible for them in view of their restricted rations.

Booker, when he's done with this experiment or trial (or stunt, if you insist) will have a much better understanding of what food stamps, and food stamps alone, will and won't buy.

Because we all know that cheap food is a great way to slim down and improve your health...

By making the comment "I would be so skinny" she is admitting it is not enough food for a person to get by own which makes her a wonderful human being!
For Christmas, she can go to a children's hospital and cackle at everyone!

Global Issues: U.S. Charities Proselytize Overseas Using Public Funds
It's unconstitutional for faith-based organizations (FBOs) to proselytize using public funds, but some FBOs manage to circumvent these rulings by conducting their evangelistic charity projects overseas. In a recent article for Firstpost, an Indian website, Rupa Subramanya argues that ...

The Lavender Scare
Here is an interesting article on one of Tail Gunner Joe's sick witch hunts that has, unfortunately, been forgotten. I try not to feel schadenfreude of the fate of McCarthy's side kick, Ray Cohn, but I never succeed.

Eric Alterman: A Wake-Up Call for US Liberals
A short column in The Nation that is a must read. The primary difference between liberalism and conservatism, at least in theory, is that the latter is an ideology and the former isn't. Conservatism, as Milton Friedman argued, posits that ...
