The oddity of the Republican response to what happened in Benghazi is partly this focus on half-baked conspiracy theories rather than on the real evidence of failures by the State Department, Pentagon and CIA in protecting the Benghazi mission.

A feature not a bug. Obviously none of the Teabags in Congress give a flying sh$t about the attack itself or those killed or injured or how security at our embassies might be improved.

What we do know is that more than 80 of the signatories are white males, and nearly half are from states of the former Confederacy.

This is extremely shrill and requires I clutch my pearls as I faint on the nearest couch. /

I'm truly surprised the hordes at WND and Faux haven't blown their collective gasket about this editorial bringing up the former Conferate states of Amercia. 'Waving the bloody flag'!!

For members of the House, attacking Susan Rice is 'free'. They don't have any power over the nomination, so they're free to put on a big DERPy show for their base and rail against "Benghazigate".
