Wow. You have to huff a lot of glue to get that twisted up. Who the fuck did she talk to? The Martian contingent? She got paid for this? I am definitely letting the Sucker Ship slip by. I could become famous for a stinking pile of steaming stank if I sell it to the right people and pander to the insane. Maybe I better reconsider my soul....../

2 Prideful, Arrogant Marriage Equality Advocate  Mon, Nov 26, 2012 4:06:18pm

I Have always been an independent woman, a lousy house keeper and I have no Uterus to breed with. Yet I have never had a problem finding fantastic men who wanted to marry me.

Us angry women are doing something right!

Surprised Think Progress didn't point it out, but Suzanne Venker is the niece of far right anti-feminist nut Phyllis Schlafly.

One has to ask what age the men she spoke to were, being able to describe "traditional" women?

A classic example of modern American Conservative 'thought'.

Apart from its raging misogyny, the article has a glaring logical flaw. It claims:

Armed with this new attitude, women pushed men off their pedestal (women had their own pedestal, but feminists convinced them otherwise) and climbed up to take what they were taught to believe was rightfully theirs. Now the men have nowhere to go.

Um, how about getting on the (newly vacated) woman pedestal?

Sounds attractive, right?

Didn't think so.

Reading her first paragraph reminded me of the short compositions my Chinese students have to write for the national English tests.

They often say something like this, in response to a prompt:

Such and such has been a hot topic of late. With the development of society, such and such has become more and more frequent. It's now a great problem, especially with regard to blah-de-bah. As a result, some people think this, while others think that. Such and such has divided society, and we need to come to terms with it.

And so on, for another 200-300 words.

In other words, Ms Venker's writing and reasoning ability impresses me not. I've got some English-language learners who could do a better job than she can.

Ms. Venker doesn't have a clue about modern women just like her crazy aunt didn't have a clue about the women of the 1960's and 1970's. Clueless and bitter old dinosaurs the both of em.

re: #10 Vicious Babushka

As the mother of 6 boys and 3 girls, my daughters learned to kick ass early and they are much better at it than their brothers.

My aunt, oldest of my Dad and his siblings is affectionately known as "Sarge."

 Frank says:

The essence of Christianity is told us in the Garden of Eden history. The fruit that was forbidden was on the tree of knowledge. The subtext is, All the suffering you have is because you wanted to find out what was going on. You could be in the Garden of Eden if you had just kept your mouth shut and hadn't asked any questions. -- Playboy Interview, April 1993
