I actually would respect his position a lot more if that was the case. I think there was this old singer Cat something who converted to a real fundamentalist form of Islam who also urged people to not play his music any more - and supported the death sentence against Salman Rushdie. And when his funds dried up - I assume - he said he did not really mean that he wanted people to not listen to his secular music anymore.

The producers should simply replace him, too! (And not because of his religious beliefs, but simply because he called the product "filth".)

(And I read the article and don't get the "killing of infants" reference either.)

Going out on a limb here but I think he's talking about God killing infants, eg:

Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.'

Are atheists the only ones who actually read the holy books?

And even if these murders were myths - they are presented as true happenings and where God orders his followers or God kills by his own hands (or his killer angels hands): The First born of Egypt, All of the Amalekites, man woman, infants, all of Sodom and Gomorrah, the whole world before the 'flood' and he wants infant penises mutilated.

Those killer acts somehow prove god is a good and loving god somehow.

How do you know Jones "finds no problem" with it, or considers it a "holy act"?
