He should return every penny he has made from the show. If he really believes it is filth.

I actually would respect his position a lot more if that was the case. I think there was this old singer Cat something who converted to a real fundamentalist form of Islam who also urged people to not play his music any more - and supported the death sentence against Salman Rushdie. And when his funds dried up - I assume - he said he did not really mean that he wanted people to not listen to his secular music anymore.

What do you mean he has no problem with God killing infants?

4 ReamWorks SKG  Tue, Nov 27, 2012 2:38:39pm

The producers should simply replace him, too! (And not because of his religious beliefs, but simply because he called the product "filth".)

(And I read the article and don't get the "killing of infants" reference either.)

Going out on a limb here but I think he's talking about God killing infants, eg:

Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.'

Samuel 15:3

Shortly afterwards of course God spoke to him in a dream and ordered him to get his ass back in that recording studio again...

You're thinking of the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens.

re: #6 Ayeless in Ghazi

You only found one instance when the god this kid worships killed infants, bonnie Jim? Hell, I can find more in the damned bible than one instance and a talking donkey on top of that. But, you know, the TV show is the bad influence.

Are atheists the only ones who actually read the holy books?

And even if these murders were myths - they are presented as true happenings and where God orders his followers or God kills by his own hands (or his killer angels hands): The First born of Egypt, All of the Amalekites, man woman, infants, all of Sodom and Gomorrah, the whole world before the 'flood' and he wants infant penises mutilated.

Those killer acts somehow prove god is a good and loving god somehow.

That's the scumbag*! Thanks! He was before my time.

*He is a scumbag for defending the fatwa against Rushdie not because he became religious Muslim or otherwise. That to me is silly rather than scumbaggy but defending calls for death for blasphemy is real scumbag actions.

How do you know Jones "finds no problem" with it, or considers it a "holy act"?

He is involved with the California-based Forerunner Christian Church, that's how.

Are you telling me there is a fundamentalist church out there that does not agree God did a good thing in these child killing acts?

No, I'm telling you I think you got the wrong church. I think you're trying to have a discussion with the voices in your head.

A 12-Year-Old’s Trek of Despair Ends in a Noose at the Border
Noemi Álvarez Quillay took the first steps of the 6,500-mile journey to New York City from the southern highlands of Ecuador on Tuesday, Feb. 4, after darkness fell. A bashful, studious girl, Noemi walked 10 minutes across dirt roads that cut through corn and potato fields, reaching the highway to Quito. She carried a small suitcase. Russ Campbell’s Blog: Bill C-23, Fair Elections Act Seems Now on Solid Ground
Now that a Senate committee has recommended nine changes to Bill C-23, Fair Elections Act, the legislation seems pretty solid. And, since Pierre Poilievre has, apparently, indicated privately that he's open to changes, an amended version of the bill will likely become law by this summer. We would probably have gotten to this point earlier had not the minister responsible for the bill ...

Why the Temperature of the Yellow Sea Is a Big Deal, and Other Questions About the South Korean Ferry Disaster
The boat ran into trouble several dozen miles from Jindo, an island that sticks out of South Korea's southwestern corner like a little toe. Jindo is surrounded by a group of even smaller islands that are slightly farther afield from the mainland. The ferry was curving around those small islands at the time it issued a distress call. What caused the disaster? We ...

Calgary stabbings: How knife crime in Canada can cause ‘moral panic’
What Calgary police chief Rick Hanson called the "worst mass murder" in the city's history didn't end at the barrel of a gun. Instead, the 22-year-old suspect identified on Tuesday as Matthew de Grood is accused of entering the kitchen at a house party, taking "a large knife" and using it to fatally stab four men and one woman, all of whom were students ...

New York Electoral College: State Joins National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.
Ben Mathis-Lilley, Slate: New York Electoral College: State Joins National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.
