Color me skeptical because the only way the US govt can get involved in this Middle East war in a way they can sell it to the American people is to put out the WMD boogie man.

Who is suggesting we get involved on the ground?

A) The USA is already involved on the ground via covert/indirect means.

B) U.S. senators call for aid to Syria rebels

Considering the UN and Syria both openly admit to WMD stocks, this is utterly unlike Iraq.

Iran is watching closely ... We better do this right. Syria is Iran's sacrificial proxy and the Syrian people are the mullahs' sacrificial lambs.

Another middle eastern intervention ? How many dead Americans does it take to get it right this time? Or is the lesson learned and we use Saudi jihadi proxies this time....hope it turns out better than the last time the US tried that......

Sryia does no such thing. Chemical weapons are not WMDs.

re: #7 Obdicut

The definition is not as clear as you imply. Perhaps you are right by some technical definition. But a glance at Wiki and media sources for Obama and Clintons recent statements the term is acceptable.
FBI
What are Weapons of Mass Destruction?

Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) are defined in US law (18 USC &sect2332a) as:

“(A) any destructive device as defined in section 921 of this title (i.e. explosive device);
(B) any weapon that is designed or intended to cause death or serious bodily injury through the release, dissemination, or impact of toxic or poisonous chemicals, or their precursors;
(C) any weapon involving a biological agent, toxin, or vector (as those terms are defined in section 178 of this title)(D) any weapon that is designed to release radiation or radioactivity at a level dangerous to human life.”

Wiki
A weapon of mass destruction (WMD) is a weapon that can kill and bring significant harm to a large number of humans (and other life forms) and/or cause great damage to man-made structures (e.g. buildings), natural structures (e.g. mountains), or the biosphere in general. The scope and application of the term has evolved and been disputed, often signifying more politically than technically. Coined in reference to aerial bombing with chemical explosives, it has come to distinguish large-scale weaponry of other technologies, such as chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear. This differentiates the term from more technical ones such as chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear weapons (CBRN).

Traditional International Legal Approaches to WMD

In security and foreign policy analyses, "weapons of mass destruction" is a term that generally encompasses nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons, with radiological weapons occasionally included. Contemporary international legal analysis generally follows this conventional definition of WMD, even though neither treaty law nor customary international law contains an authoritative definition of WMD

How the IRS’s Nonprofit Division Got So Dysfunctional - ProPublica
The IRS division responsible for flagging Tea Party groups has long been an agency afterthought, beset by mismanagement, financial constraints and an unwillingness to spell out just what it expects from social welfare nonprofits, former officials and experts say. The controversy that erupted in the past week, leading to the ousting of the acting Internal Revenue Service commissioner, an investigation by the FBI, ...

We are in the midst of the worst Washington scandal since Watergate. The reputation of the Obama White House has, among conservatives, gone from sketchy to sinister, and, among liberals, from unsatisfying to dangerous. No one likes what they're seeing. The Justice Department assault on the Associated Press and the ugly politicization of the Internal Revenue Service have left the administration's credibility deeply, ...

4 Things We Should Remember When Arguing About Politics
Political discourse in America has reached levels of douchebaggery previously only theorized about but never observed, like conversational dark matter. We're in a whole new world of hating people based solely on their opinions on a few key issues, and since this is unexplored territory, our conversations about politics are usually only a couple notches beyond the "hold your breath until the other ...
