Why not trust people who have scientific understanding in positions requiring scientific understanding?

So, you wouldn't have hired Einstein if you were running the Princeton Advanced Studies institute back in the day?

Faith and reason is not as simple as this.

Einstein was an atheist. Anyone who argues otherwise is like those Republicans that argue evolution is only a theory.

Childish superstition: Einstein's letter makes view of religion relatively clear

...while they believe in an invisible being or some non theistic supernatural belief with no proof like reincarnation or karma? That means they are bad scientists. No thanks.

So you wouldn't trust Isaac Newton or Gregor Mendel, therefore you must reject everything based on calculus or genetic biology.

Fuck no. Just like I would not trust Hypocrites. Science moves on. Newton had no clue about the theory of relativity for example and Mendel knew nothing about DNA and Hypocrites had no idea about the germ theory of medicine.

That is what you religious people don't get. These were men of their eras and thus adopted to their eras.

If Newton and Mendel were born in post WW2 Europe they would in probability be just as non-religious or atheistic as any other European.

My dad is a Presbyterian and a scientist for the FDA so I am sure he appreciates your comments...

I can't see where the video "condones premarital sex" so much as "acknowledges that people are going to do it anyway, so they should still take safety precautions."

And I find it highly amusing that snotty atheists are just as stupid as bigoted fundies WRT insisting that religion & science are mutually exclusive.
