The artist said the ashes appeared to "contain the memories and the souls of people: people tormented and murdered by other people in the most viscous war of the 20th Century".

This typos adds insult to injury.

As for the art, no matter how well intentioned the artist might have been, he crossed a line- a big fat one.

This is a desecration of remains of the highest order. Those remains were not his to decide to use as he saw fit.

You would think the Vicious Babushka would catch that typo. That's Telegraph's typo, not Babushka's.

No words exist for this but "vile". How Hausswolff could be that disrespectful is just beyond me. I'm with Alouette, this painting should be stolen and buried.

W? T? F? I want to know how he got access to the ashes as I assume the people in charge of giving tours at Majdanek don't just leave heaps of them sitting around so that any ghoulish tourist can grab a handful. Seriously, WTF?

re: #2 Vicious Babushka

Of course it was the Telegraph's typo- I lifted the offending passage directly from the piece.

Attention seeker.

Artist unsure of his own talents, resorts to cheap ploy.
