I'm so freakin' tired of the bru-ha-ha of the 12-month long Marketing Plan known as the Holiday Season.

Yet, if American didn't buy, buy, buy, what would the rest of the world do?

*spit*

“There is no parent in the world who would ever want their child to be subjected to conditions that you see in these films of children in dingy basements, without air, without food, without proper care, being forced into child labor for all these hours of the day. I think every parent who sees these films will want this practice brought to an end as quickly as possible.”

This was what capitalism looked like in both the US and Europe in the 19th century. There are an amazing number of people living here who think this would be a good thing to bring back.

For example, Newt Gingrich.

It would be interesting to know who they were making it for, but I'm afraid that the most of the cheap Christmas crap being sold is made in places like this.

Ahh, true unregulated free market capitalism at work, it brings a tear of joy to my eye. Sigh...but then pro-regulation busybodies like Global March for Children and Gordon Brown had to go and ruin it like always. Why can't these people mind their own business and just let the labor market find it's own natural level?
