Sorry, bot, but this one trips my BS detector.

There's no reason to believe that CAIR is an honest organization.

There's no reason to believe that you have to believe CAIR to acknowledge the attacks on Mosques and the islamaphobia that's displayed by elected officials.

I do not like blog promotion bots. Especially when said blog has no interest in any type of objectivity.

No doubt attacks on Muslims are a problem, but Fundamentalist Islam poses a MUCH bigger problem.

People should be respected, but I don't really see any reason to give unconditional respect to Islam (or any religion for that matter).

Can't say I understand the downding on my previous comment. The bigotry expressed by so-called "Islamophobes" (what a silly word) is bad, and the bigotry expressed by Fundamentalist Muslims is just as bad, and much more widespread across the world. This is clear as day to anyone paying attention.

It's the two big 'buts' in there. Why can't you say people deserve respect PERIOD.? Since you feel the need to chime in on a subject you could have left alone....

I chose not to leave them alone. Sorry, you're not the arbiter of what I should "leave alone". 'Chiming in' on subjects is what the internet is for.

Fundamentalist Christianity is a far bigger threat to this country than fundamentalist Islam.

Easily. I worry much more about laws being done in the name of Christianity in this country than laws being done in the name of Islam. We have one, count it one Muslim representative in Congress and I wouldn't call Keith Ellison an ally of fundamentalist Islam.

I don't agree. It is Radical Islam that carries out terrorist attacks and plants IEDs. Violence among fundamentalist Christians is far rarer and far less widely accepted within that community.

I'm not saying you should leave them alone. I'm saying if you choose to make a comment I don't like, I'm not going to leave it alone either.

Have another one.

So the Afghanistan President put forth a decree, banning or otherwise making illegal: Child MarriageForced MarriageDomestic Violence"Women as Chattel" (Giving a daughter or sister away to settle a debt)Murdering Rape Victims as Adulterers Which puts the country at least one baby step closer to being actually sane. Why Hate Groups Continue to Exist in 2013
Fifty years ago, African-Americans were targets of the Ku Klux Klan's violent hate agenda as the Civil Rights movement gained steam in desegregating public institutions across the South. The Birmingham church bombings, which killed four little girls in 1963, was one of the most violent crimes the Ku Klux Klan has been responsible for in attacking Black Americans (on Friday, the president signed ...

Obamacare Will Be a Debacle — for Republicans
Well, the preliminary numbers for CA are in -- and they're looking very good, with costs coming in below expectations. At this point, it looks as if this thing is indeed going to work. And think about the political dynamics. Because the Supreme Court decided to let states opt out of the Medicaid expansion, some states -- notably Texas -- will have a ...

An Interplanetary GPS Using Pulsar Signals
Spacecraft could determine their position anywhere in the solar system to within five kilometres using signals from x-ray pulsars, say astronomers. Navigating in space is a tricky business. The usual method relies on Earth-based tracking stations to work out a spacecraft's distance using radio waves, a process that is accurate to within a metre or so. That's fine for the radial distance, but ...

SIGN THE PETITION, learn about it: Feminist Campus - Campaign to Expose Fake Clinics
"Crisis Pregnancy Centers" (CPCs) or Pregnancy Resource Centers advertise on your campus and in your community. They pose as comprehensive women's health clinics and advertise under "abortion" and "family planning" services, but do not offer abortion services, contraception, or referrals. CPCs often provide false information about abortion, birth control, and the effectiveness of condoms for the prevention of STIs and HIV. Ultimately, their ...

4 Reasons ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ Is Secretly About Drugs
Nice, right? Anyway, here's my thesis: Raiders of the Lost Ark is not an action-adventure movie about an archaeologist who plays by his own rules and saves the day. Instead, the film is an exploration of Marion Ravenwood's crippling drug addiction. An addiction that was born from her unhealthy relationship and continued association with Indiana Jones. Is it true? Who cares. Can I prove ...

there's no such thing as Flickr Pro, because today, with cameras as pervasive as they are, there is no such thing really as professional photographers, when there's everything is professional photographers. WAPO’s Glenn Kessler Gives Three “Pinocchios” To Claim of Doctored Emails
It has long been part of the Washington game for officials to discredit a news story by playing up errors in a relatively small part of it. Pfeiffer gives the impression that GOP operatives deliberately tried to "smear the president" with false, doctored e-mails. But the reporters involved have indicated they were told by their sources that these were summaries, taken from notes ...
