I don't even give them the "Whig Party" label, with the Tea Partiers in charge I give them the label "The Know Nothing Party".

1.
Start wars, lower taxes.
Add over $500 billion (thru 2013) in drug coverage, lower taxes.
Quadruple spending on "security," lower taxes.
Increase subsidies and write offs for some corporations, then lower their taxes.
Etc...

2.
?????

3.
Profit! Fiscal responsibility!

Why is it necessary to qualify your relationship as boring STRAIGHT monogamous? There's such a thing as boring GAY monogamous too. Also, I hear some people don't find their monogamous relationships, gay or straight, boring! Can you only be conservative by living a boring life?

I kept hoping that during one of the GOP primary debates, the economic geniuses there would explain how that lowered the defect, at least until the Kenyan usurper stole the election from the Honorable Sarah Palin and that old fart she was running with.

Necessary? Not at all. it's just the lifestyle I live. A dash of self deprecating humor.

It's not the LIFE that's boring. It's the stretches where you lay the foundations for future zest and daring, by playing parts of it boring, that are boring.

"Conservative" has many meanings. One of them seems to be "Bad Bad Dog". But to me, it means wise husbandry of resources, including environmental resources, financial resources, and reserves of trust.

These resources can then be a factor in reaching the great goals one has in life. Because they're there, not squandered.

The smaller govt ideology is the problem. We live in a complex society that can no longer function without some oversight and investment from the govt (internet for example was invented by the govt).

We need less intrusive govt not smaller govt.

This is not he 1800s anymore where if we lose our jobs or the economy turns sour it does not matter because we can move west, get free land from the Indians and grow some crops as a yoeman farmer. We don't live in a nation where we can leave a job and just walk down the street and get hired at another one (which is how it used to be in the Garment District in NYC up until the 70s according to my dad).

Any party that argues for reducing or eliminating the social safety net in this modern, globalized economy where businesses have no loyalty to either country or workers or even customers/clients (Wall Street firms worked both sides of the game - legally it seems thanks to deregulations) deserves to die or be killed off.

Republicans, your fantasy based economic ideology is your problem more so than your views on gay rights and social issues.

Well said.
It's all about perspective-From a TMZ / Paparazzi /pearl clutching drama viewpoint I'm beyond boring, non existent. Even my guns are "boringly" all Calif. legal, registered etc. I get to work in an interesting mfg biz, have a small multi media biz, and get out with my cameras & the wife. I'm not bored. I just live a highly non controversial day to day.

There Is No Such Thing Really as Professional Photographers
there's no such thing as Flickr Pro, because today, with cameras as pervasive as they are, there is no such thing really as professional photographers, when there's everything is professional photographers. Certainly there is varying levels of skills, but we didn't want to have a Flickr Pro anymore, we wanted everyone to have professional quality photos, space, and sharing." - Marissa Mayer, Yahoo ...

WAPO’s Glenn Kessler Gives Three “Pinocchios” To Claim of Doctored Emails
It has long been part of the Washington game for officials to discredit a news story by playing up errors in a relatively small part of it. Pfeiffer gives the impression that GOP operatives deliberately tried to "smear the president" with false, doctored e-mails. But the reporters involved have indicated they were told by their sources that these were summaries, taken from notes ...

Men Are Being Sexually Assaulted in the Military, but Nobody Is Talking About It — the Good Men Project
Our Soldiers are being raped...by our Soldiers. In the U.S. Military, annually, more men are being raped by men than women are being raped by men. I state this fact, articulating it in this manner, not to diminish what these women are enduring but to raise the level of awareness and discourse to fully include the men; they have been dropping through the ...

We know how to reduce the incidence of common medical conditions but …
Obesity is on the rise-- as is the incidence of Heart Disease, Diabetes, Stroke and various forms of Cancer. And, shockingly, diseases that had in the past begun in old age are now appearing at much earlier ages. A groundbreaking scientific study showed how easily (and inexpensively) the rate of occurrence of these and other serious illness could be greatly reduced-- but this information ...

Your Weekly Peggy Noonan Three Martini Column
We are in the midst of the worst Washington scandal since Watergate. The reputation of the Obama White House has, among conservatives, gone from sketchy to sinister, and, among liberals, from unsatisfying to dangerous. No one likes what they're seeing. The Justice Department assault on the Associated Press and the ugly politicization of the Internal Revenue Service have left the administration's credibility deeply, ...
