A hurricane is a naturally occurring weather event. Therefore, there is nothing to "blame" for hurricane Sandy. Climate change may have had an affect on tidal measurements, etc, but it did not "cause" hurricane Sandy to form. A god of course if not in the picture at all in these matters.

People are so easily brainwashed it's frightening.

We need to increase the sentences for false prophecy.

People are average. Learn to work with it.

There are likely plenty of enviornmentalists included in that 4 of 10 number that feel this is only the beginning and that nobody is going to take the action neccassary to get it under control. They are clearly more likely to be right than those who think God is doing it.

But either way, we need to identify a solution and we need to persuade people to recognize the real problems we're facing.

Both can be done by getting Science and Engineering writ large in the daily media. Fund science and engineering projects that get people to think about what is going on and get their attention. Fund NASA.

The easy way out. "It's (fill in blank) will." Can't wait for 12/21.....Faith. Like fucking magnets. How do they work? Tide comes in, tide goes out. Because. Tell the next loon that the Mayans are coming back in spaceships that look just ....like.......Pyramids.

Nearly four in 10 U.S. residents say the severity of recent natural disasters such as Superstorm Sandy is evidence the world is coming to an end, as predicted by the Bible...

What? So the Mayans were biblical scholars?

Before that, the end was supposed to be 1999, just like Nostradamus said. Wtf! Why do so many bible-pounding nuts look to "heathens" to put a date on the biblical apocalypse? Evolution is all lies, but heretics predicting the end of days are on to something? Really?! WTF?!
