NH police taser Chinese iPhone shopper
Welcome to Nashua Apple Store! Please be advised all shopping rules will be strictly enforced.
A Chinese woman went to an Apple Store in Nashua, NH, to buy iPhones for her famliy back in China. She bought two on one visit, then returned another day to buy some more. The manager tried to tell her she couldn’t buy anymore (Why? I wonder.). But she didn’t understand him. They asked her to leave. She still didn’t understand. The cops come. She gets upset, “resists arrest,” and ZAP! she gets tasered.
A police spokesman said it was all perfectly normal procedure.
‘She was certainly capable of coming up here and purchasing these things from the Apple Store here,’ Capt. Bruce Hansen insisted. ‘Whether her language inhibited that, I really don’t know.’
‘Our force continuum has specific times when a Taser is used during resisting arrest or that type of an incident where a person doesn’t comply with a lawful order to submit to an arrest,’ he added. ‘This really is a criminal trespass, resisting arrest incident, and that’s fairly routine here.’
‘There’s nothing really out of the ordinary about it.’

I’ve just struck Nashua off my list of places I want to visit.
Follow up: The woman is considering pressing charges. It seems the manager told her she could only buy two phones, but she claims she saw other shoppers with more than two, and was taking video of them. Then the manager told her to leave.
