And a database of the mentally ill, or something. And video games are bad.

This is their solution? Seriously?
I had a brief moment of hope when they said they would address the issue, but they've lived down to my expectations.

"And the police will have full automatic weapons as opposed to any shooter who will only have body armor, semi auto capabilities and cop killer slugs. Why we can even post armed officers at every other intersection to intercede before the shooter gets to the school/mall/church/hall/bar/store/shop/bus/subway/train/street/house/apartment. Police will also be issued bigger clips. Tax dollars will pay for this. Your tax dollars." May as just as well have pissed up a rope for all these hyenas are worth. Can't smoke a cigarette on school property, but you can smoke a bad guy? Brilliant. Simply brilliant.

What is really unsurprising and deeply disappointing is the NRA will not even discuss some rational gun law changes.

NRA: "We should have armed guards at every school. But we need to keep our guns because it's our protection against a police state."

Yup.

98K public schools in the US.

I don't see it as a workable solution.

I don't see it as a workable solution.

The group's top lobbyist, Wayne LaPierre, said at a Washington news conference that "the next Adam Lanza," the man responsible for last week's mayhem, is planning an attack on another school.

Adam Lanza used his mom's rifle.

What LaPierre admitted by saying another Adam Lanza is out there planning an attack is that it is impossible to truly secure firearms in the home to keep them out of the wrong hands. He knows this so his only solution is to position armed guards everywhere to run interference.

So he is admitting that we need armed guards to defend our children from NRA members.

Note: There was an armed security guard at Columbine.

This proposal is no solution at all.

Yeah, basically the NRA wants to put the border-patrollin' Minutemen in our elementary schools.

What could POSSIBLY go wrong with this idea, I ask you.
