‘My Brother Attacked Me ’ I Shot Him’: Man Shoots Dead Brother Who He Thinks Is a Home Invader
Just another tragic illustration of the fact that if you have a gun for “home defense” you and your family are in more danger than if you do not. Everyone thinks that they are that rational person who is the exception who would never shoot anyone else or themselves through, anger, accident, or depression. They think that all the way up to the moment where they shoot a loved one, a stranger in an argument, or themselves.
A middle-aged man accidentally shot his younger brother, thinking he was an intruder trying to enter his home, authorities said.
Ali Akbar Dastmalchi, 65, told police that when he was opening the door to his North Carolina home, he ‘saw someone lunging at him with a spiked object,’ according to a police report.
That man turned out to be Vahid Dastmalchi, 63, his younger brother.
Dastmalchi initially alerted authorities by calling 911 and told the dispatcher: ‘My brother - he attacked me. I shot him.’
