Watch without no sense of irony, Powell either get called racist or be the subject of racial slurs. And I have to agree with him but honestly it’s nothing new and I think it goes back to the Southern Strategy. Nixon started it and I’d say Reagan/Bush I perfected it.

I took Obama to make it safe to say out loud.

Yeah I’d say Obama’s really exposed the xenophobia and bigotry that exists in the Republican Party even among the non-birthers. To them, Obama’s still suspect because of his upbringing and being gasp a community organizer.

‘There’s a dark streak of intolerance in the Republican Party’

No shit, General Powell.

Why did it take this long for you to come out with it?

Now, Condi just needs to say the same.

Powell called a racist in 5..4..3..2..1…

That statement would have been perfectly apt twenty years ago.

Where the hell have you been General Powell?

So is Powell finally “rehabilitated” now? That was a really good interview.
For quite a while everything he said was met with instant derision. After the UN speech about Iraq WMD.

Powell called a racist in 5..4..3..2..1…

“Powell has over and over again exposed himself as a guy who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture. I don’t know what it is….”
