Don’t mess with Big Dog, man.

Furthers the cynicism of the electorate.

I hope a Dem adopts him and renames him Obama. No dog should have to go through life with a name like Reagan.

One of my pet peeves (pun intended) is politicians are now obligated - especially those running for president - to have a pet dog. I love dogs, don’t get me wrong, but Obama had a very good reason not to have one - his kids have allergies - and he he adopted a dog as soon as he became president.

Suddenly, having a pet dog is part and parcel of the office for presidency.

I get why, it’s cheap publicity of the aw shucks it’s so cute variety that all presidents I guess need but it is the kind of publicity that turns political junkies like me off because it is so transparent.

Well, at least Scott did not get caught washing clean dishes at a shelter.

That’s good news for the dog. It’s probably in a better place now.

It’s kinda sad in a way. I watched on some show, that the dog is truly the only one any POTUS can trust because the animal cannot talk. It showed pictures of former Presidents and their dogs, from FDR and Fala to LBJ and his poor beagles.

The timing of Scott’s “adoption” is despicable.

Clinton didn’t get Buddy until after the election, but they had Socks the cat. And really with both parent’s working, not having a dog was probably a responsible thing.

I do categorize people by the dog-test. Because my dogs have never been wrong. But, to do it as a nation for politicians is obviously easy for the handlers to manipulate.

re: #7 FemNaziBitch

I get what you are saying, I feel dogs are people too in a sense and I would hate the idea they are just unloved props for politicians - be they presidents or govs, etc.

Romney placing his dog on the roof is an example of a man not being empathetic to a creature.

Dogs are pack animals and thus social and need the companionship.

Even without the War on Women, the Seamus Incident would have turned me off to Romney.

I can’t believe how many people chose a animal abuser over a black man.

It could have ended worse for the dog. Scott might have given him to the Romneys.
