*facepalm*

I think we might want a “Shooting” while intoxicated law. Maybe the same as DUI-.08 and with similar penalties. At the ranges where I shoot alcohol possession is forbidden. Not even for an after event BBQ. No beer.

What do you think? “Operating a firearm while intoxicated” sounds like a doable thing at the state level.

Yes you need an AK-47 to shoot at paper targets. That target might assault me and I’d have to defend myself and my family.

There is nothing wrong with shooting at paper targets for recreation. I have done it many times. With a semi automatic weapon, no less.

Everyone else’s family in the neighborhood you say?

That is where these idiots screwed up. Booze, guns and your backyard: Do. Not. Mix.

I bet that there are 10x dumb-uses of guns for every use of a gun ‘successfully defending someone’. Gun-owners tout the limited stories of ‘defense’ like Jesus just arrived on the planet.

Great idea. Very common sense. So it’ll never happen

That sounds fine, but how about severe penalty for target shooting in your backyard in a neighborhood period. Incredibly stupid.

Aren’t there already laws that you aren’t supposed to target shoot in your backyard?

There should be a one-strike law with this kind of stupidity. Screw up with a gun doing something dumb and you lose your right to own a firearm. Period.
