There is a meme out there by the right wing that if only victims of Hitler were armed they would have deterred Hitler from rounding them up - of course ignoring all those armed nations Hitler invaded despite how well armed those other nations were. Including nations Hitler invaded that were full of partisans.

Also, the USSR fought a civil war against anti-communist forces - a really bloody war, too - and won. It seems armed resistance did not deter the Red Army, either.

And all those generals Stalin purged? I am pretty sure they had arms also when that happened.

What I find funny about this meme by the right is that they are equating the US military and the police with Nazi Germans and NKVD Soviets.

These are the same military and police right wingers always over spend on and praise.

If you right wingers are so afraid of America’s military how about you STOP arming them with scary space age weapons and defund military spending?

I mean seriously, if you right wingers are planning to fight the American military one day with Walmart bough weapons, the least you could do is strip the military budget down so they don’t have robot killer drones and ray guns targeting your obese asses when you gather at the militia campgrounds near the Burger King down the road.
