Here’s another part of that same clip, where a student absolutely schools Sen. Walsworth on the scientific method.

By the way, Louisiana Tea Partiers are trying to groom Walsworth for a run for Governor.

I think she’s talking about Lenski’s experiments.

However, it is still akin to bangin’ one’s head against a wall.

The stupid, it burns…but somewhere there are constituents saying “yeah, how come those e coli don’t turn into people in a few weeks if evolution is true.”

re: #1 Interesting Times

That was my very first thought.

The problem is the Senator doesn’t even speak English that well. How is he going to understand science when he can’t even understand our language.

I have theory for gravity, as the Senator understands the word ‘theory’. There is no gravity. The world sucks. Teach the controversy! ///

I think a about a gazagat of anti-matter is required, but it has to be added at different intervals and just the right amount each time heated by a special process involving rare earth magnets.

It’s a long, nerve-wracking, and potentially world-shattering process. Heavily regulated by black legislation and only known to a few very high-level scientists who are permanently sequestered in an underground laboratory on the Outer Hebrides by joint task force of CIA and MI-5.

The last time it was tried, the lab tech took too much no-doze and ended-up dropping one of the vials. We only know about it because his world transmitted all government monitored activity to our seckrit out-post on in the gamma quadrant. The transmission abruptly ended when the vial hit the floor and did not resume.

We can only guess the rest.

Walsworth and other un-evolved folk are busy turning schools into manure dumps, so they should be the ones to ask.

Although I taught high school social studies for 33 years before I retired, even I know that this is a stupid comment that this legislator made. This is why some people have NO business being given the power to make laws that impact the lives of millions of other people. While some on the right are busy bashing public education and public school teachers, they should be looking at the politicians like this guy that they think are qualified to make decisions about very important issues. Bobby Jindal isn’t a dumb guy, but in order to advance his political career, he’s willing to tell Louisianans that evolution isn’t real, and that creationism should be taught in schools and paid for by the taxpayers, while he sends his own kids to schools that probably include evolution in their curriculum because he wants them to have every educational advantage available.

The first time I saw this news, it occurred to me that the evolution of E. Coli into GOP senators would be a significantly easier intermediate step than E. Coli to human evolution.

The video would seem to confirm this supposition.

I think Fox News has proven you can feed bullshit 24/7/365 and create a lower life form from a higher species. “Just trying to get my 3 cognitive braincells to hold hands on this one Ma’am. Tough chore. I’m a Cretin.”

It’s easy, you just have to wait 4 billion years.

Baker’s Graduation Cake Mix-Up Ends in Purr-fect Mistake
When Laura Gambrel, 22, of Zionsville, Ind., graduated from Indiana University in May, she wanted to keep the celebration pretty low key. She didn’t walk at the ceremony, nor did she have a party because she planned to go right back to the university this coming fall for grad school. It seemed only fitting then that the one thing her mother attempted to do ...

Study: Reading Fiction Makes People Comfortable With Ambiguity
Are you uncomfortable with ambiguity? It's a common condition, but a highly problematic one. The compulsion to quell that unease can inspire snap judgments, rigid thinking, and bad decision-making. Fortunately, new research suggests a simple antidote for this affliction: Read more literary fiction. A trio of University of Toronto scholars, led by psychologist Maja Djikic, report that people who have just read a short ...

U.S. embassy security? Not in my experience
Pat Ferguson Hanson: I was working as a young diplomat at the U.S. Embassy in Athens, Greece, in 1975 when CIA Station Chief Richard Welch was killed in front of his wife upon their return home from a staff Christmas party. I know firsthand something about security at our posts overseas, and I consider myself lucky to be alive. Before he was murdered, Welch ...

He paid off the IRS debt two years later, but his money troubles continued. In 1993, Jackson filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, according to federal court records. Among the ...
