Your headline needs some work - maybe a dash, or something. It took a couple of reads to get to your real meaining. Maybe shorten it to “mainstream the white minority nationalism of Stormfront” or something?

Also think you want to say “trial” instead of “trail”.

I always edit my work after - need to get my thoughts out quick. I appreciated the feed back and changed the title, etc.

It’s a good observation - it wasn’t that many years ago that they linked arms with the JBS by first letting them “sponsor” conservative events like CPAC, and then they mainstreamed most of their stuff. We just saw several white nationalist orgs sponsor “Gun Appreciation Day” so it might take a similar track in the next four years. This is a party desperate for people who aren’t in retirement homes, and this is just how they troll as you can see the Breitbrats embracing them.

The reason I am getting my radar on this is I am seeing a lot of links by “mainstream” right wing websites to racist writers with some linked to the David Duke style of white nationalism/racism.

I don’t find that a coincidence. The GOP went through the Tea Party and took them for all they were worth. Hollowed them out. What is left but the “Pat Buchanan” style of Republican that was kicked out of the party? I will see this as an anti-immigration push again by the GOP followed by reports that Obama’s Democrats are destroying white people to lift up non whites, etc

I am hearing talk show radio babble that kind of sounds like this now and I am reading it on their forums by the opinion makers and you also noticed these right wing radicals are sponsoring gun rallies, etc.

I hope I am wrong.

I wonder. Even with that echo chamber, the Republicans could barely hold on to the white vote (with evangelicals!). The farthest the Republicans could go and still be viable would be to make themselves a “white advocacy” party. Ending affirmative action would be one of their planks.

But…! We already know what these people’s true feelings are. They’d rather be reactionary. Ethnic nationalism is the most unimaginative thing ever. It’s a natural fit for a conservative party.

This is the fruition of a planned takeover of the Republican Party by far-right forces. It was nurtured in the 1980s-1990s by groups like The Leadership Institute (whose ties to white nationalist organizations have been well-documented), through whom most of today’s Republican power-brokers were trained and nurtured. Add the concerted efforts of the fundamentalist Christian evangelicals, who turned TONS of money into these efforts and you get what you see today.
