Jindal announced the cuts recently, saying the state was moving away from costly residential care for domestic violence victims in favor of short-term hotel stays and family care.< (bolding mine)/blockquote>

Family care? Like going home to the abuser or what? That makes no sense at all.

Men beating women senseless, or even sending them out to be raped and murdered is in the bible. They all have it coming to them because of that bitch Eve. Bobby is on firm wingnut theological ground here.

Bobby Jindal for POTUS ,
He would be positioned somewhere around number 300,000,000th in my order of preference.

When you’ve got a “holy” book written by men, for men, you have to expect these sorts of things.

That’s ok, Jindal isn’t an NBC anyhow, at least according to some of the wing-nuttery out there. But the “True Conservative Believer”(c) is all about protecting and helping those who can’t help themselves (as long as they stay unborn people, once you’re out of the womb, you’re on your own). I give up trying to figure how they live with the cognitive dissonance that must be ringing in their heads. I image it would be like coming off stage after a classic Who concert in the 70’s.

U.S.-Colombia Labour Rights Plan Falls Short
WASHINGTON, Apr 9 2014 (IPS) - Three years after Colombia agreed to U.S. demands to better protect labour rights and activists, a "Labour Plan of Action" (LPA) drawn up by the two nations is showing mixed results at best, according to U.S. officials and union and rights activists from both countries. Pointing to continuing assassinations of union organisers, among other abuses, U.S. lawmakers ...

Why the Temperature of the Yellow Sea Is a Big Deal, and Other Questions About the South Korean Ferry Disaster
The boat ran into trouble several dozen miles from Jindo, an island that sticks out of South Korea's southwestern corner like a little toe. Jindo is surrounded by a group of even smaller islands that are slightly farther afield from the mainland. The ferry was curving around those small islands at the time it issued a distress call. What caused the disaster? We ...

Calgary stabbings: How knife crime in Canada can cause ‘moral panic’
What Calgary police chief Rick Hanson called the "worst mass murder" in the city's history didn't end at the barrel of a gun. New York Electoral College: State Joins National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.
Ben Mathis-Lilley, Slate: New York Electoral College: State Joins National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Instead of pushing for a Constitutional amendment, which would have to be ratified in 38 states, advocates ask individual state legislatures to pass an agreement: that they'll pledge all their presidential electors to the winner of the national popular vote as soon as enough other states pass the law to ...

 Frank says:

Throwing objects such as this are capable of damaging expensive musical equipment and musicians. Any more of this and there will be no more music. -- FZ, Autumn 1981 at Northrup auditorium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After someone threw a plunger on stage about two-thirds of the way through the show, he stopped the band with a wave of his hand speaking in the general direction that the dangerous object was thrown, while holding it in his hand. This did not prove to be an amusing act and Franks mood hardened. - It was, however, an evening of excellent, serious musicianship around the release of 'Shut up and play your guitar'
