Another fine example of Stand Your Ground.

Remember, he is a “responsible law-abiding gun owner”…..right up to the point he decided to murder an innocent person.

A 69-year-old war veteran and former missionary

What religion was he missioning for?

How is a 69 year old man - probably suffering from dementia - going to help overthrow the antichrist dictatorship govt when US Army imposes martial law at the Muslim president’s orders?

(sorry, this is serious and a good man was killed for nothing but I don’t know how else to characterize this bizarre gun culture we have in America. I am OK with gun ownership but not with this gun culture).

Lock him up for the rest of his life. Christ. So sick of hearing stories like this. I can see why he may have been a little spooked but for fuck sake, the guy was trying to drive away. Is this the armed polite society I hear about? Really, where a man is shot for simply being in the wrong driveway?

Lock him up for the rest of his life. How does that imbalance work when the killer is 69 years old and the victim so much younger?

WHAT.THE.F__K.
A former missionary?!?!?! More proof too many people have access to guns…

Deepest condolences to the family of the victim.

I wish I knew. But yeah it’s tragic. This guy had his whole life ahead of him and this paranoid fuck killed him.

I’m sure this guy NEVER watched Fox News, or listened to Rush Limbaugh, and wasn’t otherwise living inside the right-wing echo chamber that kept him permanently riled up against the dark-skinned “other” coming to invade his sanctuary and steal his stuff.

And if he did or was, that had nothing to do with it.

9 nines09  Tue, Jan 29, 2013 10:22:58am

Probably had Limbaughs voice echoing in his pin head; “They’re coming for YOU.”

I guess I missed the place in the Bible where Jesus says, “Shoot first and ask questions later.”

11 theheat  Tue, Jan 29, 2013 11:44:10am

So scaring them off with a gunshot - albeit unwarranted - wasn’t enough. This crusty old prick wasn’t happy until he shot and killed someone who was retreating anyway.

You have to wonder how many attaboys are going on at places like WND celebrating the fact this guy killed someone who was no threat to his life or property; this batshit crazy someone who embraced their second amendment rights.

Crazy old sonofabitch should rot in jail with his bible, soiling himself. Sadly, it won’t make him less of a hero for the cage bangers.

12 ReamWorks SKG  Tue, Jan 29, 2013 1:19:58pm

Well, I’m sure his religion will let him say “I’m sorry, Jesus” and get off the hook!

Because criminals always pull up in your driveway when you are home with their family in the car with them.

An Interplanetary GPS Using Pulsar Signals
Spacecraft could determine their position anywhere in the solar system to within five kilometres using signals from x-ray pulsars, say astronomers. Navigating in space is a tricky business. The usual method relies on Earth-based tracking stations to work out a spacecraft's distance using radio waves, a process that is accurate to within a metre or so. That's fine for the radial distance, but ...

SIGN THE PETITION, learn about it: Feminist Campus - Campaign to Expose Fake Clinics
"Crisis Pregnancy Centers" (CPCs) or Pregnancy Resource Centers advertise on your campus and in your community. They pose as comprehensive women's health clinics and advertise under "abortion" and "family planning" services, but do not offer abortion services, contraception, or referrals. CPCs often provide false information about abortion, birth control, and the effectiveness of condoms for the prevention of STIs and HIV. Ultimately, their ...

‘Self-Aiming’ Rifle Turns Novices Into Expert Snipers - Tech - 20 May 2013
Matthew Lang at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, says the danger arises when the rifle falls into the hands of those who are neither hunters nor military snipers. "If it starts to find its way to individuals that plan to use it for other purposes, there will be a lot of time and money spent figuring out how to secure any public area ...

4 Reasons ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ Is Secretly About Drugs
Nice, right? Anyway, here's my thesis: Raiders of the Lost Ark is not an action-adventure movie about an archaeologist who plays by his own rules and saves the day. Instead, the film is an exploration of Marion Ravenwood's crippling drug addiction. An addiction that was born from her unhealthy relationship and continued association with Indiana Jones. Is it true? Who cares. Can I prove ...

Woolwich: a History of Violence
As shocking and appalling as Wednesdays brutal murder was, Woolwich (wool-ich) is a not so surprising location for such an attack. As someone pretty local to Woolwich, I thought I might give a little profile of the area, if anyone is interested. Woolwich is traditionally a military area, with the old Arsenal at its centre and the new barracks one of London's important military ...
