A BBC documentary made a few years ago shows what was lost.


However, as the documentary mentions, there are archives all over the city. Some should have survived.

They’re more than criminals, Destro. What is happening in Mali is indeed a war, and it is a war started by the same forces of Radical Islam who just torched that library.

Radical Islamists are totalitarians, and it is acceptable to compare them to other totalitarians. Thus comparing them to the Nazis when they burn books is not a Godwin’s Law violation.

They’re more than criminals, Destro. What is happening in Mali is indeed a war, and it is a war started by the same forces of Radical Islam who just torched that library.

Don’t look at me - I warned people overthrowing Qaddafi was a bad idea and lead to this. Why? Cause I saw the same thing happen in places the USA overthrew regimes in Yugoslavia and tried to do in Chechnya and is trying to do in Syria.
