The original story had some clues:

…the University might be tearing down his childhood home…

…The University may be planning to tear down buildings on East 57th Street…

No demolition permit has been filed for that particular building, and the University has no announcements regarding this particular building…

…[Southside Preservation Action Fund leader Jack Spicer] believes that the University’s renovations will leave a “sterile canyon” in Hyde Park.

Reagan has a childhood home in the CITY OF CHICAGO. Who knew. I’ve been to the one in Dixon.

There is a Reagan childhood home museum in Dixon Il. There are brown signs on I-80/88 near the IL-IA border that say so.

He might be admired in the Econ department a UC, but not by the student body and and community on whole - he’s hated there.

So from 1915 to 1919 Reagan may have lived there. So using Wingnut logic. He must have learned his Chicago Thuggery Politics from there.

Reagan’s family briefly lived in several towns and cities in Illinois, including Monmouth, Galesburg and Chicago, until 1919, when they returned to Tampico

I hope Chicago gets the library. I’ve never visited a presidential library before, and this would be an opportunity for me to easily do so.
