+1, and retweeted.
I agree with you.
On the assault weapon ban, I oppose blanket bans. We want exceptions so police can get what they need. So museums can have intact displays. So some people can put on certain regulated events like re enactments and competitions. So security and armored truck guards can have what they need. Licensed, bonded and regulated. For a reasonable fee of course.

A couple of disjointed thoughts.

He is bringing out the old (incorrect) saw that violent video games and movies cause violence and he was rightly called on it.

It is hard to take someone seriously that stores a handgun in the glove compartment of his car and drives his kids around.

Twice he perceived possible threats that may or may not have been threats (escaped convict, meth user). His solution both times was a firearm.

Yeah, yeah, I get it, gun nuts.
Guns > Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

When the time to lay blame for the massacre arrived, it wasn’t Americans’ easy access to firearms that I found myself deploring, but a depraved, unbalanced culture of splatter-fest games and other dark entertainments. I blamed the potential for gruesome fame nurtured by the Internet, as well as a mental health system that’s not a system.

Oh this guy is full of shit.
Still support him RWC?

What gun owners really want it do desperately deflect from blaming stupidly easy access to guns to blaming all manner of other things.
