I dont understand - weren’t there plenty of “good guys with guns” at a shooting range? Wayne LaPierre says the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

Why didn’t the good guys stop this crime from occurring?

MOAR GUNZ! We need MOAR GUNZ, and armed guards in towers. Because the guards can’t all be looking in the right place all them time, we need at least five times as many guards a people being guarded. Then we need more guards to keep an eye on the guards, because without the national mental health database that Obama refuses to pay for because he hates your kids while his have armed guards, you just never know.

We may need to import the entire population of the world to solve this problem and make us safe so we can remain armed to the teeth to resist tyranny.

The folks at the range probably figured the shooter was a good guy killing the bad guys.
