So…he’s never heard of Texas, Florida, California, Arizona, New Mexico etc…god he’s an idiot. This makes Dick and Karl’s landslide predictions look like a rounding error.

EDIT: I looked at the map…it looks like only the Seattle Tacoma area in the entire US gets about the same as the brighter parts of Germany. So…even worse than I thought, which is usually what I’ve come to expect from Fox.

From the map at Slate, it looks like Germany has about the same weather as the Aleutian Islands. So, he has hasn’t really heard about 90%+ of the US

It’s sort of amusing watching the teabaggers and foxtards praise Germany and their fiscally sound economy: Germany has socialized medicine (one of the world’s oldest universal health care system), legal prostitution, is a VERY green-friendly country, and by all accounts is a very Progressive country where the citizens largely mocks the GOP and conservatism.

It also has a superb public transportation system, very high gasoline prices and at least a 21% VAT, yet it’s one of the most livable countries in the world.

While the lunatic right wing here is trying to drag us back to the early 19th century, modern countries like Germany have a higher standard of living, are far safer, and pretty much blow us out of the water everywhere it counts.

The only reason the right praises Germany is because they have fond memories of Germany’s totalitarian past. That’s the only German idea they’d like to emulate here.

D’oh! I forgot my favorite part of Germany (i.e., the amazing public transit system)!! My second favorite part: it’s legal to walk around drinking a beer.

Did I see the Fox News hosts bringing up Germany? Good for them.

The transportation system is amazing. You just hop on a U-Bahn or S-Bahn train to the Hauptbahnhof, catch a local or high speed ICE train and you can get to damn near anywhere and back fast.

Did I mention that Deutsche Bahn is government subsidized? Unlike Amtrack, in Germany it actually works.

”Sure, California might get sun now and then, Joshi conceded, “but here on the East Coast, it’s just not going to work.”

This is news to all the people in NJ who have solar panels and enjoy small to no electricity bills, including my parents. At least, at last check, NJ was still part of the East Coast.

Detroit Local Powers First EV Charging Road in North America The road, about a mile from Local 58's hall, uses rubber-coated copper inductive-charging coils buried under the asphalt that transfer power to a receiver pad attached to a car's underbelly, much like how a phone can be charged wirelessly. ...
