“This is a mission, a labor of love to try to save lives and hearts and souls and that is something that is worth getting out on a Sunday night in Lubbock to support,” said former Senator Rick Santorum.

Wait, Santorum wants universal healthcare?

He just supports families in general? Unless that family is gay or poor.

He supports “special” families. Like his. You? Not so much.

The Heartline Women’s Clinic is one of those deceptive religious groups that masquerades as a “crisis pregnancy center” to advise women against having abortions.

deceptive religious groups

The deceptive is pretty much extraneous, don’t you think?

Since we now have perpetual campaigns, Santorum is wasting no time staking out the far right position in the likely field. Visiting this clinic is but one example of doing exactly that. Problem for him is that Rand Paul is also staking out that “no one is to my right” position. Other contenders—like Christie and Rubio—seem to want to reach out at least somewhat to moderates, but of course that just makes getting the nod that much more difficult. Will be interesting (well, maybe a little) to watch over the next few years as they all jockey back and forth between “true conservative who REALLY loves America” and “electable.”
