Read the article. Mulcair is saying Crossroads should not be funded because it disapproves of homosexuality. But at the same time he is Catholic and says not a word against Catholic doctrine. The charge is that Mulcair is a hypocrite, not a bigot.

But it is fair for any Canadian to hold homosexuality—meaning Homosexual acts—to be outside his or her moral code.

Here’s a thought. If it is outside of your moral code, don’t do it. How about that? And let other people live their lives as they see fit according to their moral codes. Why is my life or your life right (or wrong)? Why should I force my beliefs on you (whomever you are)?

I don’t care who holds what views, but when your views become supreme over mine, that’s when we have a problem.

Many religions and their charities in Canada, and around the world, hold same-gender sexual activities to be incompatible with their moral code, including Roman Catholics and Muslims. Are they all to be denied government funding?

In a word: yes. All humans deserve human rights. When you want to take them away, no government funding for you. Period. Full stop.

Of course, if your organization is based on creating christian communications infrastructure to propagate your hate, in a nation that is trying to make the minority group your hate is directed at a crime punishable by death, then I think it’s perfectly reasonable to deny state funding for those projects.
