Ready for the next round of jihad-related Metro ads?

The ongoing saga over anti-Islamic advertisements in the district will soon open a new chapter that reads a lot like an old chapter.

The Washington City Paper reports that the American Freedom Defense Initiative, the organization that stirred up controversy last fall in Washington and New York with its anti-jihad advertising campaigns, has purchased more ad space in the D.C. Metro for a new promotional campaign.

The ad buy would be the latest in what has become something of an advertising war between the AFDI and the “My Jihad” campaign, which is sponsored by the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

“My Jihad” campaign, great idea. It’s time to fight back against the selective translating of arabic words to make Muslims sound scary - Jihad, intifada, etc.

It won’t work, terrorist lover. ‘Jihad’ has a very specific meaning in the minds of the American public, and as long as terrorists are using it as justification for their atrocities no PR campaign is going to change that meaning.

Can we say what is really going on? Geller is working up hate for Muslims so she can use that in the hopes of turning American public opinion against any Palestinian (even the moderate, western supporting ones - sure many Palestinian Arabs are also Christians but of the eastern weird kind - might as well be Muslims themselves - so fuck ‘em) in the hopes of helping the agenda championed by the American and Israeli right wing for Israel and the West Bank’s occupied territories.
