Comparing Penn Jillette to John Wayne Gacy is both ugly and stupid.
No downding, but IMO this is a bad piece. Hostile is one thing, but this one jumps the shark.

Two more things:

1. In a list that includes a good number of left-of-center people, AlterNet refused to include any of them in its derivation. Alternet’s piece therefore qualifies as a partisan hatchet-job.

2. I was not one of Andrew’s Breitbart’s fans but his sudden death from a stroke is not a thing to make fun of. Ian Murphy is an asshole for saying of Breitbart “Andy never did taste the failure. Just sidewalk.” and AlterNet is an asshole site for reprinting it.*

*: That charge is not make against Alouette, since she did not reprint it.

Too much WIN to list, had me in tears.

While I don’t disagree with much here, this list seems more like a personal pet peeve of the moment not an analysis of those causing most harm, written when nothing else comes to mind.

re: #2 Dark_Falcon

Of course we are always told to not speak ill of the dead, but Breitbart is the main contributor to the post 2008 political cesspool were are living in.

So I will speak ill.

The Sam Harris thing is bullshit though. He may be dead eyed, and have a fetish for firearms, but he does have a good brain in his skull.

A devout Randroid and Glenn Beck fan, he’s to the rationalist movement what John Wayne Gacy was to clowns.

I actually kinda like Penn, but I thought this was pretty funny.

It is fine to speak ill of Andrew Breitbart, but the callous manner in which the piece referred to his death was wrong. Someone dying from a stroke is something you do not joke about.

the takedown on Penn Jillette is not classy. To put him in the same class as Dinesh D’Souza just for being a greedy Randoid is to follow a thoroughly double standard out of disappointment that he can seem a promising, entertaining rationalist and still be a greed head asshole.

I’m sorry, those other guys are a lot worse than being just an asshole

What do you call Andrew Breitbart dying of a stroke?
A good start. Now about the rest of that list…
