I guess just like the 2nd Amendment guarantees that citizens have a right to the same arms the military does, the 1st Amendment allows tv to show nonstop murder and mayhem 24/7.

Nothing we can do about either one. We’re just helpless.

So, who would you have placed in charge of the Bureau of Censorship?

Me, of course. My taste is impeccable.

I thought (hoped someone would notice) the recent SCOTUS decision put that contention to rest at last.

It practically begs for legislative regulation on ordinary firearms.

Comments from Scalia specifically indicated a clear limit-“Bearable” arms only. No mortars, tanks, planes, nukes, or naval missile cruisers under the second. His statement that small missiles like the stinger are technically bearable but so are frag grenades and machine guns.

No one. As I said, “Nothing we can do about either one. We’re just helpless.”

Do you have reading problems?

6 Mongo only pawn... in game of life.  Mon, Feb 18, 2013 9:58:41am

TV reality 101. “That show is a steaming pile of shit.” Look at the numbers. “Order up more steaming piles of shit right away!”

The smellier the better. I’m expecting TruTv to order up a series where black people have to wear ape costumes and perform for spare change. It wouldn’t be much different from their two “Pawn” shows now, so they’d already have a hook into the audience.

The NRA would completely disagree with you about that, and so would all the politicians they own.

9 Glenn Beck's Grand Unifying Theory of Obdicut  Mon, Feb 18, 2013 10:54:04am

There are huge, obvious flaws in this study— the main one being that hours of TV watched correlate with a lot of other things. They correlate with less parental attention, with less socialization, with less exercise, and those in turn also correlate with lower grades.

Great, another study to make me feel guilty!

What makes you sure there was no effort to account for those factors?
