Conservatives strange obsession with meddling in the lives of others, whether it’s LGBT, abortion, birth control, green living, etc., is well…..quite strange.

This kind of crap is why I left facefarce months ago! It has turned into GodBook! nearly every post was glorifying some ridiculous bullshit! What pissed me off the most was people I KNOW have been nothing but low life druggies and have raised thier kids to be parasites on this community and yet claim such love for jesus and god and act like criminals. And they have the unmitigated gall to look down on me an atheist who works 5-6 days a week and pays taxes that they might live off the sweat of others and then look down on me as they go to church with fuel I pay for…

It’s a Christian thing. They believe that as Christians their divine mission is to lead others away from Sin and to the love of Christ. So they see these crusades to try and marginalize/demean/legislate away sinful behaviors as part of that mission.

They believe that, for example, by making abortion illegal that they are saving the unborn.

(Note: the statements made here do not reflect my own Christian beliefs)

Similar arguments can be made for birth control and gay rights.

I don’t really ‘get’ the various unoppressed*-majority-pride things. You can be proud of accomplishments, but being proud of what you just are without effort? Not so much.
I give an exception to those who have been told they should be ashamed of what they just naturally are-go ahead, tell the world you’re proud of it. Have a parade. Enjoy. But no one should have told them to be ashamed in the first place.

*And no, not having everyone aspire to be just like you does not mean you’re oppressed. Losing your guaranteed place at the front of the line isn’t oppression either.

 Frank says:

It has never mattered to me that thirty million people might think I'm wrong. The number of people who thought Hitler was right did not make him right... Why do you necessarily have to be wrong jus because a few million people think you are? -- Why they don't play my stuff on the radio
