I don’t know what to think about all this stuff. Is it part of the anti-drone frenzy? Is it irrational fear of identification? Paranoia? Or maybe it is just common sense? Is this a left-over from 9/11 spurred fear of all photography?

To me this is a lot like each time new technology comes out and police of course seek to use that to help law enforcement. The courts than set some limits. The founders had no concept of telephones or even telegraphs, let alone the internet. So we have to explore the new ground and regulate accordingly. This time we have a dim of proponents and paranoid skeptics.

My point is we have transparency and input on the rules. That way we have a shot at a just set of rules.

Huh?

“This prohibition shall not apply where the image does not reveal forms identifiable as human beings or man-made objects,” possibly implying that if no human is in any photo or video taken, it is acceptable.

Or man made objects? WTF is this about? Ban satellites too. Byebye Google earth.//

So the model rocketry crowd, the RC crowd, and the various hobbiest aircraft people have to put away their toys. Oh, yeah, and what about news crews in their helicopters (not to mention the cameras in the blimps)?

Dumb law, but it’ll probably pass and stay on the books for a bit.

Surveyors, real estate agents, ranchers, archaeologists. BS.

Not to mention companies like mine, an aerial photo company - it’d quickly put all 12 of us out of a job. Hope this silly idea doesn’t spread to other states.
