conservatives are spending a lot more time trying to find things to be outraged over than reporting the news

Actually conservatives most of their time trying to gain 15 minutes of fame and increase traffic their sites by spewing more outrageous bullshit than the previous day

Mind-boggling.

In my ideal world, RedState would have a couple of reporters to focus on the basics and the depth.

Because right now they don’t do either?
Could this moment of self-criticism have something to do with the Malaysian PR scandal which Redstate is in the middle of?

So, I realize that one can’t necessarily have one’s ideal situation-in this case a couple full time reporters-but I fail to see why that means he can’t have any decent reporting at all.

Is is just me, or has RedStates really fallen off a cliff with regards to the number of diaries and most of all, the number of comments since the election? I used to go there occasionally to check on the moderately coherent right, and now the only discussion seems to relate to Erick being a RINO.

I also use RS as a window into the rational fraction of the US hard-right. I think the underlying issue is that their insistence on rationality is eventually going to get them excommunicated by the forces of bigotry and know-nothingism that have come to dominate movement conservatism.

I expect so. It also seems like Erick has lost his rational posters, either because they are dispirited or they just don’t see much worth discussing. I think Erick may need to look for another line of work at some point.
