had a $98,000 monthly mortgage payment

Nobody ever said borrowing from God was cheap. I hope this didn’t cut into His 10% take off the top.

It appears that this guy is so low that he was scamming the mentally handicapped.

From the comments:

I love Pastor Steve I’m 46 and have known the family ever sence I was 10 years old, when I became an adult I started attending FCC, when it was I Griffith, I loved the Church the Chior and was in the Chior, my husband didn’t go to church only on holidays and all Pastor Steve would talk about was ties, when I joined they wanted to know what my husband made at work to tie from that it was like a app, I told Steve I can’t do that my husband is not a member, so he said well he gives you money for food doesn’t he, so he told me to tie off that, at that time I only got 80 dollars a week for food but yet gave ten for ties

Freedom of religion is important, but I hate that much of American religion is a for-profit endeavor.

Don’t forget the money they saved, paid by everyone else in the community, by not paying property and other taxes. Call them entitlements for God.

Somehow these folks missed the Biblical advice about being wise with one’s possessions. I guess they fell for their own scam: pray a lot and money will fall into your hands from above.

Senior Pastor Steve Munsey received at least $519,514 in total compensation in 2011, the most recent year for which records were available, according to a return filed with the Internal Revenue Service by Refuge Productions Inc. His wife, Senior Pastor Melodye Munsey, made at least $201,607 in salary and benefits in 2011.

The Munseys’ actual salaries could be higher, as they are connected to several other nonprofits and for-profit companies affiliated with Family Christian Center. Compensation information was not available for those entities.

True believers these two. /eyeroll
