Bill and Opus for 2016!  Mar 9, 2013 • 9:11:01am

Don’t forget about that other aspect of military detention that wasn’t mentioned in this report, and I’m betting the one that Graham and Ayotte were really hoping for.

They still haven’t forgiven him for having bin Laden killed.

There’s a certain line of thinking (probably not shared by Graham and Ayotte, but definitely present in the blogosphere) that sees hypocrisy in a supposed “kill American terrorists, prosecute foreign terrorists” policy:

Turkey and Jordan was able to hand over al-Qaeda leader Sulaiman Abu Ghayth, the son-in-law of Osama bin Laden, to Obama and pals and what did they do? They wisked him off to New York where now instead of being interrogated for intelligence as he would of been at Gitmo he is enjoying his own defense lawyer and all the perks the Bill of Rights gives him.

Of course, the implication is that we should just kill all suspected terrorists, and giving them any (perceived) leniency just means you’re a terrorist loving sekrit Muslim.

At least those who categorically oppose drone strikes against anyone are somewhat reasonable.
