What could go wrong with an angry crowd of rural white people with guns,,,,,,

The biggest surprise for me in this article is that there is apparently an elected official from Colorado Springs who is a Democrat.

Colorado Springs has been wing nut central for decades, and if they are starting to lose their absolute hold on local politics, that would cause wingnut angst.

“We will not tolerate that kind of intrusion on our personal property rights….”

“….unless we are dictating what women can do with their vaginas!!!”

These same people are always screaming about how having the right to own any kind of weapon as an example of “freedom.” It’s going to look sorta funny when some of them end up in jail/prison, if they act on this wacko sheriff’s advice and Gov. Hickenlooper calls in the National Guard. There, they won’t have freedom or guns.

I don’t think they’re demanding “the right to own any kind of weapon”. I think they want to keep what they have.

I live here. The nutcases believe in their right to have any weapon, and believe the that all Liberals are evil degenerate people.

From a geographical standpoint, this idea is truly stupid. Elevation wise, water-wise, etc.

re: #2 EPR-radar

They still have a total hold here, and that is unlikely to change.

What has changed is that the Rest of Colorado (Or rather, the combination Denver, Fort Collins, Pueblo, and Boulder) have gotten big enough to override the rural areas and drive the state to the left at blinding speed. Less than 10 years ago, a constitutional amendment to ban Gay Marriage passed. Now polling shows that a majority would support Gay Marriage.

This state went from Moderate Right-Wing to Hard Left-Wing in hurry. Essentially, it went from being a richer Missouri to Washington/New England in about 7 years.
