But that means god was wrong - how can that be?

Sorry, when it comes to sex and family planing I like to follow the biblical wisdom of bronze age sheepherders.

“The scientific evidence strongly confirms what has long been obvious to women,” says Adam Sonfield, lead author of the literature review. “Contraceptive use, and the ensuing ability to decide whether and when to have children, is linked to a host of benefits for themselves, the quality of their relationships, and the well-being of their children. But the evidence also suggests that the most disadvantaged women in our society do not fully share in these benefits, which is why unintended pregnancy prevention efforts need to be grounded in broader antipoverty and social justice efforts.”

Awesome.

Higher brain functions are good, IOW. Sad that this is still controversial.

I’d like to live in a world where a study like this is seen as being like a scientific study to see if water is wet.

The socio-economic benefits of contraception are obvious to everyone except the willfully blind.

I imagine a lot of the opponents of contraception don’t care if there socio-economic benefits or not. What matters to them is their raging hard-on for making people suffer for daring to have a sex life——-becuzz Jebus says sex is ebil.

The problem is that not everyone wants women to have better economic and social standing.

One of my students today complained over lunch that she’s spent 20 years working hard as a student, doing what others want, and her family wants her to spend another 20 years taking care of a husband and a child. “When do I get to live my own life?” she lamented.

We’re in China, where traditional attitudes still survive. The Christian Taliban in the USA wants to drag America back through time, to when American girls had a similar lack of choice in their lives.
