The Venn Diagram of Irrational Nonsense
“Crispian Jago, the UK-based skeptical blogger at The Reason Stick and co-founder of the Hampshire Skeptics Society and Winchester Skeptics in the Pub, has just published a fantastic Venn Diagram of Irrational Nonsense. Yes, he says it is a “gross over simplification,” but I have to love how the perfect intersection of religion, medical quackery, the paranormal and of pseudoscience appears to be nothing other than Scientiology.”/blockquote>
The only problem that I can see arising from this classification scheme is that using the concept of reasoning and proven tools of logic to classify ideas and beliefs that are obviously so antithetical to the same concept and tools give too much credibility to them. To prove this, take the fact that almost all fringe ideas / beliefs are represented here, including those help by most conservatives coupled with the fact that they all have scientology is common is an insult to scientology! And that is a pretty low bar.
