“I think there should be scrutiny of people who blow the whistle on these kinds of things.”

Spoken like a true brown shirt.

Why yes. We can say their papers are not in order and take them away. True American Patriots. “What a charming armband!”

Hey, has Hannity ever been water-boarded for charity yet, or is the big mouthed, chickenshit asshole just pretending he never offered to show how harmless it is?

It must be some sort of fascist element with right wing thinking that likes the idea of a leader beating the subservient followers who don’t perform well. Also, I recall right wingers trying to stop anti-school bullying campaigns - as in they were saying bullying in school is good for kids development because it gives them character.

Maybe it’s a right wing religious thing influenced by the Old Testament urging to parents to beat their children. I know the right wing passed laws in states designed to defend parents who beat their children (per Biblical reasons) and in some cases wanting or defending school teachers who physically discipline their students.

My daughter’s field hockey coach routinely swears at the players, calls them “fat” and “stupid,” punishes them by making them run extra miles in 100 degree weather, grabs their water bottles out of their hands and throws them on the ground if they drink while he’s yelling at them, and grips their arms so hard that he leaves bruises.
If a classroom teacher did that, they would be fired (tenure or not) so fast it would make your head spin. No parent would allow it for a minute. But in sports, it’s considered “building a good team.”
I don’t know which is worse, the way that parents protect their children from the slightest discipline or criticism or regulation in the academic classroom, or the way they seemingly honor abuse on the playing field.

Yelling and cursing seems to be a job requirement for coaches. The line gets crossed when they start engaging in physical abuse. It’s just a goddam game, not life and death.

I think it tells you all you need to know about Rice’s actions that Syracuse coach, Jim Boeheim one of the best in the business was on PTI and was sharply critical of what Rice did. And I am sick of conservatives like Hannity whining about “political correctness” because their narrative is being hurt. Would Hannity want some asshole berating and abusing his kid? Somehow I doubt it but because these are other people’s kids, he could care less. Stupid right wing hackjob.

If your drill Sargent hit you in the face with a basketball , or laid hands on you like this schmuck , he’d be court marshalled .
But you gotta take this from where it’s coming from -two mindless morons Hannity and Malkin .

With conservatives it’s all a game of contentious contrariness . If I say yes ,you say no , if I say two, you say four, etc.etc.ad nauseum .

re: #5 elizajane

Well maybe when your daughter comes home with coaches handprint on her cheek , you may view things differently . You’re just as dumb as Hannity .If that POS coach was on EQUAL GROUND with the players , that is he could not kick them off the team or cut short a potential pro career , those kids would and should have kicked his ass.

Hannity and Malkin aren’t political Conservatives at all. They’re right-wing authoritarians, so of course they love when the powerful abuse the powerless. I’m not sure if Political Conservatives actually exist anymore.

What have you done to see this abuser arrested and stripped of authority?

12 sffilk  Thu, Apr 4, 2013 1:46:13pm

Remember, they have the right to say whatever they want. That said, if they want to look and sound like blithering idiots, that’s their right.

And it’s our right to point that out to the rest of the world.

I can see all sorts of gruesome gore on the Internet and it barely bothers me.

But seeing him hit, shake, and call these young men “faggot” was extremely disturbing for me. It made me feel terrible for the young men on the basketball team.

As much as possible. The other parents and the administration love him.

Maybe it’s time for someone to do a secret recording and put it on YouTube. Let’s see how cocky those parents and admins remain once it goes viral and makes them famous for enabling and encouraging abuse.

It does seem to be coming down to the essentials these days (e.g., “a boot stamping on a human face, forever”, from 1984 )

I wonder if these genetic defects have ever heard of the incident when General Patton slapped the soldier who had shell-shock. There was a massive outcry, and Eisenhower made Patton apologize to the soldier personally. Even in the 1940s, hitting people was not seen as a sign of good leadership.
