Over the past five years, Nevada’s primary state psychiatric hospital has put hundreds of mentally ill patients on Greyhound buses and sent them to cities and towns across America.

…where they immediately run for public office in the GOP or are put to work as bloggers on right wing news sites . //

Harry Reid is from Nevada and the state voted for Obama both times. Clearly, the issues the state has cannot be ascribed to one party.

And thanks to the Republicans in the Senate all those patients can still legally buy guns in many states.

Dark_Falcon - Nevada’s Gov is a Republican, Sandoval who has exercised his veto power over taxation and spending bills more than any governor in state history.

Funding for mental health services in Nevada was drastically cut in the early 1990s under governor Bob Miller. Things have not gotten better since then. It’s shameful, but that’s what you get from a state with no personal state tax, no corporate or franchise tax, and then having revenue from property taxes gutted with the severe drop in home values.

The thing is, if these patients had any money they would have been bussed to the nearest casino first. Then they would have been shipped out of state.

re: #3 Dark_Falcon

You really don’t know how states work, huh.
You actually think that senators and the president do the job of the governor and the state’s own senate? And if they don’t act like dictators and override the republicans running the state(what they
d have to do to have any effect on this issue), then clearly, ‘both parties do it’! Aaah, how easy it is.
Sheesh. Beyond see-through.
And anyone who understands how states fund and manage healthcare, will easily see through such silliness.
Not clever. I just don’t get this rather dishonest drive of yours to pretend that your party is not as bad as they constantly show themselves to be. You’re only enabling their worst behaviors and policies. And showing yourself to be happy to be dishonest if it serves the republican party…
