Definitely macabre. WHo’s gonna admit that they bought a Hyundai after seeing that? BTW, why would they sell right hand drive cars in Germany?

“This video is no longer available due to a trademark claim by a third party.”

In other words, the video is dead. I’m assuming Hyundai just realized they stepped in a big one.

Medieite still has it.

Guy goes into garage with door down and a tube from the tail pipe snaked through the drivers side window. Starts car hoping to die from CO fumes from said car. Problem is, it doesn’t emit CO, only water. Poor taste? Yeah, but then how many other commercials have we seen that were in poor taste?

Or even a popular show that used it for their theme song

M*A*S*H*

I know, the M*A*S*H* theme song CELEBRATES suicide! And was written by a 14 year old kid besides!

Through early morning fog I see
Visions of the things to be
Pains that are withheld for me
I realize and then I see

Suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I please…

The game of life is hard to play
I’m gonna lose it anyway
The losing card I’ll one day lay
So this is all I have to say

(Chorus)

The only way to win is cheat
And lay it down before I’m beat
And to another give my seat
For that’s the only painless feat

(Chorus)

The sword of time will pierce our skins
It doesn’t hurt when it begins
But as it works its way on in
The pain grows stronger, watch it grin, but

(Chorus)

A wise man once requested me
To answer questions that are key
Is it to be or not to be
And I replied oh why ask me?

And suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
And you can take or leave it if you please

And you can do the same thing…if you please…

“And I can take or leave it if I please.”

A long time ago I was on the brink. I always knew if things got bad enough all I had to do was just crash my car into a bridge foundation. A lot of nights I would pull over and look at it and then decide to give tomnorrow a try.

I’ve been there myself. In my case I was hanging from my own belt before I finally was willing to admit to myself I needed help very badly.

I think that’s why this ad upset me so much. This was even worse than making light of suicide. It used a tragedy that has touched too many lives to sell a product.

Can you imagine the outrage that would accompany an ad using a situation similar to the Boston Bombing for advertising purposes?

The ad agency would be picketed for days and hackers would crash its computer system.
