OpEd: 10 Oeuvres Aspiring Photographers Should Ignore
The other day while reading the internet I came across “The 10 Most Harmful Novels for Aspiring Writers.” I wondered whether there could be a list for photographers as well. I thought about it and then sent my list to Blake Andrews to see if he wanted to contribute and have some fun with it.

I saw this today in a comment at my favorite photography blog, The Online Photographer and had to pass it on as there are several of us here who do a wee bit of pixel peeping.
The article talks about the usual suspects:
Ansel Adams
Henri Cartier Bresson
Robert Frank.
Stephen Shore
Nan Goldin
William Eggleston
Ryan McGinley

Alec Soth
Diane Arbus
but it does so in a very useful & humorous way. As someone who predominatly works in landscape & has been influenced by Adams, it’s a problem I am intimately familier with.
