Republicans are furious about the administration’s response to the Benghazi attack that left four diplomats dead, according to a poll released Monday, but have yet to convince the broader American public of the scandal’s seriousness.
Forty-one percent of Republicans in the survey from Public Policy Polling, a Democratic firm, said it was the biggest political scandal in American history, compared with only 23 percent of the general public. Nearly three-quarters of Republicans also said the scandal was bigger than the Watergate or Teapot Dome scandals. Seventy percent said it was worse the Iran-Contra.
Americans are more skeptical. Voters are more likely to trust former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton than the congressional GOP when it comes to Benghazi, 49 percent to 39 percent. Overall, Clinton has a 52 percent approval rating to congressional Republicans’ 36 percent.
I’ve got family in Texas and before the lat election there were so many emails with links to right-wing sources predicting a landslide upset for Romney I had to place their addresses in the SPAM Filter. It just started again.
