Oh yeah, guns in every house, that will TOTALLY protect families more.

The new ordinance does have some exceptions for heads of households who can’t legally own a gun or who simply do not want to own a gun.

So… this ordinance is pointless?

Bill Long, the lone board member who voted against the measure says it’s just a symbolic gesture and that it’s just as intrusive as laws that try to limit guns. “Ideologically, it’s no different than saying, ‘You can’t own guns,’ Long said to The Associated Press. “If you want less government in our lives, this isn’t that. It’s a symbolic gesture.”

Mr. Long, your words are wasted among your moronic peers.

Is the board going to be liable if a child accidentally shoots himself or someone else? Or are they just going to insist you have a dangerous item in your home and then make you responsible if something goes wrong?

When stupid people feel threatened they do stupid things.

The only way to stop a child with a gun is another child with a gun.

Dang 5 year olds!

When stupid people feel threatened they do stupid things.

Which got us the Iraq debacle, the Patriot Act etc… it’s the logic (when there is logic, not just the thrill of killing or supposed revenge) behind terrorism

It’s one of those things that’s just a publicity thing but this is just stupid and it’s a false equivalency to link reasonable gun control with forcing people to own guns. The second amendment doesn’t allow for absolute arm ownership any more than the first allows for absolute speech. Would be nice if people got that but they just don’t.
