Just as long as they keep their 29% batshit crazy base happy, the GOP is perfectly content to just keep the pedal to the floor on the bus to Crazyland.

They don’t care. They could have 90% of the country fleeing from them and they would convince themeselves the opposite.

And yet because of political tribalism, they will still keep their majority in the House and may even have a shot at the Senate. System’s fucked.

And yet I can guarantee that at least 45 percent of the electorate will vote for the Republican candidate for president in 2016.

The mantra of “both sides are equally terrible” that our LIBERAL MEDIA!!11!!!!11! likes to peddle to the rest of the proles, and the pathological obsession with the “horse race” will make sure of it.

If it weren’t for gerrymandering, if the people’s votes were counted directly instead of counting districts, this wouldn’t have happened. By now, either republicans would’ve bailed out from the extremism, or the majority would’ve thrown them overboard. The insanity wouldn’t have a chance go this damn far.

The elections themselves needs to be reformed. Election results are rigged everytime district lines are redrawn. Bitching about dark money campaigning or single-issue voting blocs only draws attention away from the far bigger problem.

The GOP just won a special CA Senate election yesterday in a district that leans Democratic by nearly 20 points.

How? Because the dumbass Dems ran three candidates and split the vote while the GOP just ran one.
