Don’t make me read this sort of stuff while I’m eating my loquats - they become much harder to swallow.

Just consider yourself lucky that I couldn’t embed the animated GIF.

Gah. At least it wasn’t Boehner and McConnell in the tool shed and using the toys…

Fires of Siberia, an excerpt:

Danielle didn’t even attempt to filibuster any of his advances. Steadman took her and began to “nullify” her. He was swollen, as swollen as the debt that President Obama is leaving to our children.

Danielle swooned as he talked dirty to her. “Obamacare will force the IRS to inject Tea Partiers with the HPV vaccine,” he whispered gently into her ear. “It will cost American taxpayers trillions of dollars.” Her eyes rolled into the back of her head and her mouth let out an involuntary cry, “Impeach Obama!” She had climaxed all the way up to her debt ceiling.

He showed her how much he desired her by continuing to “repeal” her passions as many times as Republicans have tried to repeal Obamacare. She hadn’t been this satisfied since the last time she made love to her cuckold husband. (So never.)

From a comment at the source.

Or, in the fancier words of the Los Angeles Review of Books, “As a publishing outfit, they are blurring the distinctions between art press, curatorial experiment and publishing industry gambit, while putting out a series of works that are strange enough individually, but seem even stranger when grouped together under the same moniker.”

How is that “fancier words” for reading with one hand and making discoveries with the other?

OK. This pretty much has to be a parody. I refuse to believe there is a human being anywhere on Earth that could be aroused by the quoted excerpt.

Rush Limbaugh? Glenn Beck? But yeah, the “quote” is made up.

This isn’t, though.

“Badlands Unlimited’s website says it publishes ebooks “Because you can’t publish a .GIF on paper,” plus “reading an e-book on e-readers like the iPad or Kindle means you only have to use one hand to read, freeing your other hand to do whatever you please.”

As a person who writes in that particular genre, it won’t do well.

The author’s name is a man, and romance readers are much less likely to buy a romance with a man’s name on it.

Rule 35 of the Internet: if you can’t imagine it, the fan-fic writers will. Just so they can write slash.

You write romance novels about Sarah Palin?
