GOP House Members Urge Perry to Add Anti-Abortion Issues to Potential Special Session
Texas fundamentalist legislators are miffed that other states have demonstrated more legislative biblical zealotry than they have.
More than 60 conservative House members on Sunday asked Gov. Rick Perry to add anti-abortion items to the agenda for a special session.
The letter to Perry says conservatives lawmakers were frustrated that various pro-life measures were thwarted during the regular session.
“On these matters of life, the will of the people has been frustrated thus far in the regular session,” the letter states. “By adding these fundamentally important issues to the special session agenda you can enable your pro-life House members to defend innocent life.
